Philippines: Redemptorist Church Provides Hot Meals in Evacuation Centers in Manila

As torrential rains continue to batter many parts of the Philippines, volunteers, workers, priests, brothers, seminarians, and youth from the National Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help popularly known as the Redemptorist Church in Manila distributed hundreds of food packets to affected residents on July 23 in Parañaque City.

“We served porridge, rice, stir-fried vegetables, and sausages in curry sauce to our countrymen in the evacuation center,” said one volunteer.

The team delivered hot meals to Zapote Elementary School, Fatima Covered Court in Las Piñas, and Barangay San Dionisio.

Meanwhile, the Conference of Major Superiors in the Philippines (CMSP) is appealing for donations to support its ongoing relief efforts.

“Our brothers and sisters affected by Typhoon Crising need our help,” stated a CMSP social media post. “The Conference of Major Superiors in the Philippines (CMSP) is calling for your generosity and solidarity. Let us respond with compassion. Your donation can bring hope, food, shelter, and comfort to those in need.”

The CMSP is currently organizing and preparing relief packs for distribution to communities affected by Typhoon Crisingand the recent floods.

The organization invites individuals, congregations, and groups to extend their support to the affected families.

“Together, let us bring hope and healing to those in need,” the CMSP added.

In addition, various Church organizations, Catholic schools, religious congregations, and parishes from different dioceses across the country are also working tirelessly to provide relief aid to those impacted by the disaster.
