Pope Francis on Thursday, February 22, the Feast of the Chair of St. Peter, publicly announced the appointment of Fr. Rex Andrew Alarcon as the new archbishop of the Archdiocese of Caceres in the Bicol region, Philippines.
"Let us resist the temptation of self-absorption. May we not be simply concerned with self-preservation. Rather, let us look at the needs of others as our own," said Bishop Rex Andrew Alarcon, chairman of the CBCP Episcopal Commission on Youth.
