FABC-OSC, VAISCOM launch Asian Communication Conference

Communication and the Synodal Church (VAISCOM Conference)

The Federation of Asian Bishops' Conferences-Office of Social Communication (FABC-OSC) with its training arm Veritas Asia Institute of Social Communication (VAISCOM) recently launched a yearly conference that will reflect on issues pertinent to the Church's social communication ministry.

Dubbed "Asian Communication Conference" or ACC, the conference is open to communication professionals, educators, clergy, religious, and lay people.

ACC 1.0 is set for November 18-19 this year. The theme “Communication and the Synodal Church” will explore communication and its role in what Pope Francis calls a synodal or listening Church (56th World Communication Day Message 2022).

The FABC’s thrust of "A New Way of Being Church in Asia" will provide the backdrop for discussions.

A New Way of Being Church is the Asian Bishops call for local churches to be (a) “communion of communities, participatory, witnessing and dialoguing, as well as prophetic (FABC-OSC Bishops’ Meet 1997).

The two-day ACC 1.0 will be held online via Zoom from 6 pm to 8 pm. Registrants will receive the link as the dates come nearer.

Registration is now open at bit.ly/ACC-RegForm Interested parties may inquire at [email protected].

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
