India: Catholic Music Talent Hunt Returns as Indore Diocese Marks Platinum Jubilee

Contestants participate in the second-round auditions of Gospel Singer Season 2, held as part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Catholic Diocese of Indore, India, on May 31, 2026.

The popular devotional music reality show Gospel Singer has returned for its second season as part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Catholic Diocese of Indore in central India, marking a significant milestone for the nationwide Catholic talent competition.

Organized by Atmadarshan TV, a leading Catholic television channel based in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, the show has emerged as one of India’s prominent platforms for devotional and inspirational music since its successful debut in 2022.

The Diocese of Indore serves Catholic communities across the region and is celebrating 75 years of its establishment this year.

The second round of auditions for Gospel Singer Season 2 concluded on May 31, drawing hundreds of entries from across the country. Participants included church choir members, independent musicians, and first-time performers eager to showcase their talents on a national stage.

Following several rounds of evaluation by a panel of music experts, 40 contestants were shortlisted for the next phase of the competition.

The finalists represent the rich diversity of Christian music traditions in northern India. Their performances feature a blend of classical, folk, contemporary, and Indo-Western musical styles, combining traditional hymns with modern arrangements and creative interpretations.

Produced by Atmadarshan TV under the leadership of Fr. Anand, the competition is open to artists from all Christian denominations. The program evaluates contestants on vocal ability, stage presence, creativity, and artistic expression.

Season 2 places particular emphasis on originality and the ability of performers to connect emotionally with audiences through music. Judges assess not only technical excellence but also how effectively contestants communicate faith, inspiration, and personal conviction through their performances.

The competition will now advance to the Top 20 semifinal round, with the Mega Finale scheduled for November 2026. Episodes are broadcast on Atmadarshan TV and its digital platforms, allowing viewers across India and abroad to follow the journey of the contestants.

Managed by Prerana Communications, Atmadarshan TV broadcasts Christian gospel music, Holy Masses, spiritual conventions, faith-formation programs, and motivational content aimed at promoting Christian values and positive living.
