Logo of Asian Mission Congress 2025 reflects “The Great Pilgrimage of Hope”

As the Church in Asia prepares for one of its most significant missionary gatherings, the Asian Mission Congress 2025, excitement is already building. The event, organized by the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences (FABC), will take place from November 27 to 30, 2025, in Penang, Malaysia.

Set against the backdrop of Asia’s diverse cultures and faith expressions, the congress will gather over 800 delegates, including 10 cardinals, 20 archbishops, 89 bishops, 163 priests, 9 deacons, 74 nuns, and more than 435 lay participants, to reflect on the theme, “The Great Pilgrimage of Hope.”

This gathering marks a continuation of the FABC’s vision first expressed in the 2006 Asian Mission Congress in Thailand, to renew the missionary zeal of the Asian Church and to celebrate faith as a shared journey of communion and service.

A Logo That Tells a Story of Faith and Unity

In anticipation of the congress, the FABC recently unveiled the official logo, a visual symbol designed to encapsulate the spirit of hope and unity at the heart of the event.

Created by Sanil Augustine of India, the logo was selected from 58 entries submitted by artists across 11 countries. The FABC leaders chose Augustine’s design for its creativity, symbolism, and profound connection to the congress theme.

Each element of the logo carries a message that speaks to the faith and vitality of the Asian Church:

  • Hope expressed through smiles: representing the joy of believers who bring Christ’s love to others.

  • Togetherness: symbolizing communion and collaboration among the peoples of Asia.

  • Radiating lines of light: signifying the spreading of the Gospel across the continent.

  • Circular form: portraying the Asian Church as a united missionary community journeying together in faith.

Rendered in vibrant colors inspired by Asia’s cultural richness, the logo captures both movement and vitality, reflecting a Church that goes forth, a pilgrim Church bringing hope to a world in need.

A Shared Journey of Mission and Hope

The Asian Mission Congress 2025 seeks to deepen the Church’s missionary outlook in a rapidly changing world. It will explore how communities of faith can become pilgrims of hope amid social, economic, and spiritual challenges.

Delegates will be hosted at The Light Hotel in Penang, with the local Church preparing to welcome participants from across the continent.

For the Church in Asia, the congress is not only a gathering, it is a journey of communion, a celebration of faith, and a renewed commitment to proclaim the Gospel with hope and joy.

As the vibrant logo reminds all who see it, Asia’s mission continues, radiant, united, and ever moving forward in “The Great Pilgrimage of Hope.”

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
