Pakistani Prelate Calls for Unity, Faith, and Discipline on Pakistan Day
Archbishop Joseph Arshad of Islamabad-Rawalpindi, Pakistan, emphasized that the “golden principles” of unity, faith, and discipline must remain the essential blueprint for addressing the country’s modern-day challenges.
In a special message delivered on March 23 in observance of Pakistan Day, the prelate highlighted the importance of collective responsibility and shared national goals. He offered prayers for the country’s security, progress, and prosperity, noting that the spirit of the 1940 Resolution continues to guide the nation forward.
Underscoring the need for interfaith harmony and social stability in the current climate, Archbishop Arshad pointed to “unity and consensus” as key strengths that can help the country overcome both internal and external challenges.
“It is essential to promote respect, tolerance, and brotherhood among followers of different religions to ensure social cohesion and stability,” he said, calling on all sectors of society to contribute to building a strong and peaceful nation.
The archbishop also paid tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces, acknowledging the bravery and sacrifices of soldiers in safeguarding the country’s borders. “The nation will always remember the dedication of its soldiers,” he added.
Concluding his message, Archbishop Arshad prayed for continued peace and development across Pakistan. He expressed hope that the people would move forward with renewed harmony and a shared sense of purpose.
