Children of God:
Good news!

A Filipina recently received a papal award, the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice Award.

The award was given to Miss Dessy Kelly, the CEO of Broadcast World.

Broadcast World is a company that supplies broadcast equipment and technical support to radio and media networks, especially Catholic stations across the Philippines.

Through her leadership, many diocesan radio stations strengthened their signal and expanded their reach.

She supported the Catholic Media Network not only with equipment but also with documentation, compliance, and professional advice.

She was known for her helpfulness and kindness.

I personally know her, even when I was still in my previous radio work in southern Philippines.

When I referred to her a priest who needed a transmitter in Occidental Mindoro, she went out of her way to help.

She did not simply transact business; for her, it’s a shared mission.

Truly, she is gifted to give.

In the gospel story of Matthew, Joseph also showed a quiet and generous heart.

He was described as the husband of Mary, from whom Jesus was born.

When he discovered that Mary was with child, he faced confusion and pain. Yet an angel appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home” (Matthew 1:20).

Joseph woke up and did as the angel commanded him (Matthew 1:24). His silent obedience allowed God’s plan to unfold.

What are our inspirations for today?

First, Say yes to God even when you do not understand everything.

Joseph did not fully understand the mystery before him. The situation looked difficult and even scandalous. Yet when God spoke, he trusted.

Sometimes we wait for complete clarity before we act. We want all the details before we commit. We delay obedience because we are afraid.

Joseph showed that faith means moving forward with trust.

When God invites us to forgive, to serve, or to sacrifice, we respond even if the road is not clear.

Today, I ask: Do I say yes to God only when it is easy?

Second, Do good quietly and faithfully.

Joseph did not speak a single recorded word in Scripture. Yet his actions spoke loudly.

He protected Mary and the child. He gave Jesus a home and a name.

In the same way, many people serve without applause.

Today, we reflect: Do I serve for recognition, or do I serve because it is right? Do I use my gifts to lift others? Do I believe that small acts done with love matter in God’s plan?

Children of God:
God builds his kingdom through generous hearts.

We are invited to trust even when we do not understand everything.

We are called to serve even when no one is watching.

Our quiet yes can bless more people than we imagine.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
