Daily Readings:  1 Thessalonians 4:9–11; Gospel: Matthew 25:14–30

A man goes on a long journey, giving his workers some money. According to their abilities, he gave them five talents, two talents, and one talent. Here we need to see one thing: the master is aware of the abilities of his workers. According to the master, the one who received five talents is more talented than the rest.

From the side of the master, he expects returns according to the ability of the workers. The first two who fulfilled the expectations of the master are rewarded, and the third one who failed is punished.

Here, the expectations of the master vary. He doesn’t expect the third one to be like the first one. But the third worker is not able to fulfill the least expectation of the master. His laziness hinders him from working. The first two made use of their talent and multiplied it. The last one, out of laziness, buries it.

Today, in our lives too, God has given us so many talents according to our uniqueness. But we fail to make use of them due to laziness.

We will also be punished if we don’t multiply our talents. Don’t be lazy, or else we would deserve to be punished.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
