Pay Attention to God's Direction

March 11, Friday,1st First Week of Lent
Ezekiel 18:21-28,  Matthew 5:20-26

Man will always be responsible for his destiny and will always have the option of choosing between good and evil, death and life. However, God recommends that man choose life with the freedom he receives from above, which helps persuade the sinner to repent and accept the path to happiness. For he is a God who delights in life, as St. Irenaeus affirms, "God's glory is that man lives."

Religion is not a savings account in which our infidelity and sins are recorded. As a result, the just must not be perverted, and sinners must be converted to pursue life.

The readings encourage us to reach out to our brothers and be reconciled with them when we make mistakes. Pope Francis, for example, is constantly reminding us of the merciful heart. Life triumphs only when there are healthy human relationships. We recognize that we injure ourselves somehow in our daily interactions with others. That is true. If we maintain an inner attitude of forgiveness and reconciliation, we may be able to live the gospel.

We cannot approach God without conducting an in-depth examination of our interpersonal relationships first because God will not tolerate any man's cult that conflicts with his brother. This is an excellent example of living a life of forgiveness, without judgment, and in which he chooses to do good.

What do I do when my sister or brother has something against me?

Lord, please help me to repent and return to you.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
