Children of God:
If you type “Unboxing Catholicism” on Google, chances are you will come across the Filipino content creator Bernz Caasi.

He was once part of a Protestant background and actively shared his faith within that tradition.

Like many sincere Protestants, he loved Scripture and desired to follow God faithfully.

However, as he continued studying and exploring deeper questions about faith, he encountered teachings that challenged his previous beliefs.

He began to examine the history of the Church, the role of the sacraments, and the authority behind Christian teaching.

Eventually, he found himself drawn to the Catholic faith.

Today, he shares his journey online, helping others understand the richness of Catholic teaching. Thus, Unboxing Catholicism!

His story reminds us that sometimes we must be willing to start again in order to discover something greater.

In the gospel of John, the disciples also experienced a moment of starting again.

After everything that happened, they returned to fishing, the life they once knew. They worked hard the whole night but caught nothing.

Then, in an unexpected moment, Jesus appeared and changed everything with a simple instruction.

What are our inspirations for today?

First, listening to Christ changes the outcome of our efforts.

The disciples were experienced fishermen. They knew the waters and understood their work.

Yet despite their skills and effort, they caught nothing that night.

Jesus stood on the shore and told them to cast their nets over to the right side of the boat.

They followed his instruction, and suddenly they were unable to pull in the net because of the number of fish.

The same effort produced a different result because they listened to Christ.

In our lives, we also experience moments when our efforts seem fruitless. We work hard, plan carefully, and still find ourselves struggling.

The resurrection reminds us that when we listen to Christ and trust his guidance, even ordinary actions can lead to extraordinary outcomes.

Second, recognizing Christ turns routine moments into encounters.

At first, the disciples did not recognize Jesus standing on the shore. He was present, yet they were unaware.

It was only after the miraculous catch that the beloved disciple realized, “It is the Lord.”

Once they recognized him, everything changed.

In our daily routines, Christ is also present. He meets us in ordinary situations, in our work, in our relationships, and in our struggles.

When we begin to recognize him, even simple moments become meaningful and filled with grace.

We can reflect on these questions in our hearts. In times of failure or frustration, do I listen to Christ and trust his guidance?

Do I remain open to recognizing his presence in my daily routines? And how can I allow my ordinary experiences to become opportunities for encounter with the Lord?

Children of God:
Our lives are filled with opportunities to experience God’s presence.

Even when we feel tired or discouraged, Christ stands near us.

He guides us, provides for us, and invites us to trust him again.

The resurrection assures us that Christ is alive and active in our daily lives.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
