Columban Missionary

An Irish priest who worked in several Asian countries, including China, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, died on January 6 at the Columban House in Kowloon. His death news "came as a shock to the Columbans and his many friends," said a press note from the Columbans.

An Irish priest, Father Desmond Morrison, a Columban Missionary in the Philippines, died on November 23, aged 97.

Myanmar Catholic diocese of Myitkyina inaugurated a new building for female drug addicts on January 12. The diocese had established Rebirth Rehabilitation Center (RRC) in response to the drug addiction epidemic in Kachin State in 2015. With the new wing, the diocese hopes to serve female clients.
