The newly established Diocese of Joypurhat in northern Bangladesh organized a diocesan vocation seminar for young people, encouraging them to listen to God’s call and discern their vocation in life.
The Episcopal Ordination of Father Paul Gomes as the first Bishop of the newly established Diocese of Joypurhat was solemnly celebrated at Beneedwar Parish, within the territory of the new diocese on June 5.
On March 25, Pope Leo XIV erected a new diocese in Bangladesh, appointing Fr. Paul Gomes, a priest of the Diocese of Rajshahi and currently Rector of the Holy Spirit Major Seminary in Banani, Dhaka, as its first bishop.
