The Dalai Lama has expressed strong support for Pope Leo’s recent call for peace, affirming the Holy Father’s appeal for an end to violence and a renewed commitment to compassion and dialogue among nations and peoples.
Pope Leo XIV said that Jesus, the “King of Peace,” rejects violence and does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war, according to Vatican News.
Fifty-two people pledged to donate their organs at an awareness program held on March 29, the Palms Sunday, at Sevvapet parish of the archdiocese of Madras-Mylapore, marking Church’s concern about promoting organ donation in southern India.
Bishop T. Sagayaraj led a blood donation drive as part of Palm Sunday observances at a parish in Thanjavur, the diocesan headquarters in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
“Palm Sunday invites us to walk with Christ - not only in moments of joy, but also in times of suffering,” Archbishop Leow said. “We must be ready to reach out to those in need and become instruments of peace.”
