The Archdiocese of Lahore in eastern Pakistan inaugurated the Jubilee Year of St. Francis of Assisi on May 22 with a celebration at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Lahore.
"It demonstrated his support for the minority," said Father Francis, adding, "This is the message we receive from the prime minister: that he cares deeply about us and the minorities."
The Sacred Heart Cathedral in the Archdiocese of Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia donated funds to Caritas Malaysia to assist in humanitarian relief efforts in war-torn Ukraine.
