With profound sorrow and reverence, the Apostolic Vicariate of Phnom Penh announces the passing of Pope Francis, the Sovereign Pontiff of the Universal Church, on Easter Monday, April 21, 2025.

On this solemn Good Friday, commemorating the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Catholic Church in Cambodia has extended a gesture of solidarity by sending a donation to Cardinal Charles Bo, Archbishop of Yangon, Myanmar on April 18.

Bishop Olivier Schmitthaeusler, Apostolic Vicar of Phnom Penh, released a special message on October 2 from the Carmelite monastery in Phnom Penh to priests, nuns, and Catholics for October, the month of evangelism and rosary, to pray for the Church, families, and Cambodian society.
