The second day (28 November 2025) of the Great Pilgrimage of Hope 2025 in Penang, Malaysia, began with a vibrant and prayerful Eucharistic celebration attended by 900 participants from 32 countries.

Cardinal Charles Maung Bo, the Archbishop of Yangon, marked his 77th birthday with a solemn Eucharistic Celebration at St. Mary’s Cathedral on October 29, 2025.

Cardinal Charles Maung Bo, President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Myanmar (CBCM), has called for an immediate end to violence in the nation, urging all parties to prioritize peace as Myanmar continues to grapple with the devastating impact of nearly four years of civil war.

“The synodal process is Holy Spirit-inspired, an irreversible process, and an axial missionary moment for Asia,” said Cardinal Bo.

“Not only does she exist to fulfill a mission; the Church is mission,” the chairman of the Bishops’ Meet organizer, FABC-OSC, said.
