Asian Research Center to hold an online roundtable on “Pope Francis’ Legacy of Interfaith Dialogue in Asia

The Asian Research Center for Religion and Social Communication (ARC), an independent educational research center based in Bangkok, Thailand, is going to hold an online roundtable workshop on “Pope Francis’ Legacy of Interfaith Dialogue in Asia: An Interreligious Conversation.”

The program takes place on June 5, 2025, via Zoom (19:00 Bangkok/Jakarta; 20:00 Manila; 17:30 New Delhi).

Distinguished speakers include Dr. Kamaruzzaman Bustamam Ahmad (Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Ar-Raniry, Banda Aceh, Indonesia), Paulus Budi Kleden, SVD (Archbishop of Ende, Indonesia), Dr. Arjuna Peter Chaiyasena (Suranaree University of Technology, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Thailand), and Dr. K.G. Suresh (India Habitat Centre, India).

The roundtable moderator is Dr. Roderick Evans Bartolome (Far Eastern University-Manila, Philippines).

The roundtable will examine questions: What kind of impact did Pope Francis make on the work of interreligious dialogue in Asia? How do we envision this legacy continuing in the years to come, within the Catholic Church and other religious communities? What actions should religious leaders, scholars, communities, and individuals on this continent take to expand and deepen the work that Pope Francis has advanced?

No prior registration is required. All are invited to join the conversation.
