Bangladesh: Catholic Teachers' Team holds retreat

A half-day retreat was organized by the Rajshahi Catholic Teachers' Team for Catholic teachers working in various schools in the city at Muktidata Primary School on May 16.
The central theme of this retreat was “Jubilee of Christ: We Are Pilgrims of Hope.” Around 25 Catholic teachers from different schools in Rajshahi participated in the retreat.
Father Sagor Corraya, director of the Christo Jyoti Pastoral Center, delivered the reflection on the theme. In his sharing, he said, “Jubilee of Christ: In this Jubilee Year, the Holy Father Pope Francis inaugurated the year by opening the Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica and declared, “We are pilgrims of hope.”
He added, “As pilgrims of hope, the faithful will purify themselves through pilgrimage and good works. ‘Hope does not disappoint us,’ because this hope assures us of God’s love (Romans 5:5). This Jubilee Year offers many the chance to renew their hope and may open a new horizon to proclaim the message of goodwill to the world. Therefore, in this Jubilee Year, let us not lose hope,” said Corraya.
He further said, “Pilgrimage always awakens hope in our hearts. The current environment often gives rise to negativity, but only hope can bring about transformation in every situation. Jubilee always carries spiritual, ecclesial, and social significance. It calls us to inner conversion.”
Teacher Sabita Marandi shared, “Participating in today’s retreat gave me immense spiritual strength. I thank God for this beautiful opportunity. I hope that the members of the Teachers’ Team will take part more actively and enthusiastically in its activities.”
The half-day retreat included prayer sessions, sharing, the Way of the Cross, and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.
In conclusion, Holy Cross Brother Ronjan Purification CSC, headmaster of Muktidata High School, expressed his gratitude and appreciation on behalf of the Rajshahi Catholic Teachers' Team to all participating teachers and the retreat director, thereby formally concluding the retreat.
