Carlo Acutis’ Relic to Visit the Philippines from Nov. 27 to Dec. 15

The pericardium relic of St. Carlo Acutis visits the Philippines from November 27 to December 15, 2025, with stops in churches across Luzon.

The pericardium relic of St. Carlo Acutis, the first millennial saint, will be in the Philippines from November 27 to December 15, making stops in at least 29 churches and one school across Luzon, according to CBCPNews.

The visit comes about a month after Acutis’ canonization by Pope Leo XIV, and will feature the young saint’s pericardium, the membrane that surrounds and protects the heart. The first-class relic, measuring six centimeters long and two centimeters high, is housed in a reliquary kept by the Diocese of Assisi, the custodian of Acutis’ relics.

The relic will arrive in Manila on November 27, beginning a two-week pilgrimage through minor basilicas, cathedrals, parish churches, and shrines across Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon.

Msgr. Anthony Figueiredo, director of international affairs and custodian of the relic for the Diocese of Assisi, will personally bring the pericardium relic from Italy to the Philippines.

The pilgrimage was organized by the Friends of St. Carlo Acutis, Philippines (FSCAPh). Its national spiritual director, Fr. Jerome Ponce, OFM, encouraged the faithful to welcome the relic with devotion, highlighting the significance of the visit for young people.

He emphasized that St. Carlo Acutis’ deep love for the Holy Eucharist, his “highway to heaven,” continues to inspire many to renew their appreciation for prayer, the sacraments, and a life of holiness.

“This grace-filled visit is a powerful reminder of God’s call to holiness in our modern world,” Fr. Ponce said. “His life continues to inspire countless young people and families to rediscover the beauty of faith, prayer, and the sacraments, especially the Holy Eucharist.”

The faithful, particularly the youth, are invited to participate in the various activities prepared for the visit, including Masses, periods of veneration, and formation events centered on the young saint.

The relic will be formally received by Bishop Dennis Villarojo of Malolos, episcopal promoter of FSCAPh, together with members of the organization.
