The Serviam Catholic Community Foundation, Inc. will hold a one-day servant leadership conference in Manila on Saturday, July 12.

The gathering invites the participants to lead the faithful with purpose and deepen their personal faith in the course of service to the church and people.

Philippine Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, former chair of the foundation, will deliver the keynote address in the conference.

He will also talk on the theme “Servant Leaders as Pilgrims of Hope” to a thousand parish and faith community leaders.

The other distinguished resource persons include Pablo Virgilio Cardinal David, a peace and justice advocate, who will talk on the theme “Anchored in Hope: Trusting the Power of God’s Word”.

Estela Padilla, a lay theologian and voting participant in the 2024 Vatican Synod, will share her insights on “Manifesting Hope in a Synodal Way”.

A panel of discussion is set to follow on “Hope in Challenging Times”, which will feature three prominent speakers who will talk about their servant leadership practices:

Senator Risa Hontiveros, an outspoken good governance, human rights, and justice advocate, from a governance perspective.

Avin Ong, a multi-award-winning entrepreneur, will represent the business sector.

Dingdong Dantes, a Filipino actor and commercial model, from the arts and culture perspective.

The discussion will be moderated by Rappler journalist Paterno Esmaquel.

The conference offers an opportunity to rekindle their hope in Christ in the face of the challenges of the time.

The foundation, under the chairmanship of Manila Archbishop Jose Advincula, heeds the call of the Church toward synodality – a journey of serving together in hope that doesn’t disappoint, because it is rooted in God’s love.

The confab will be spearheaded by Fr. Anton C.T. Pascual,

executive director of Caritas Manila and president of Radio Veritas 846, as spiritual director.

It will be held on Saturday in La Salle Greenhills in Mandaluyong City.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
