FABC President Cardinal Ferrão’s Eid-ul-Fitr Message Calls for Unity and Interreligious Harmony
Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrão, Archbishop of Goa and Daman, has extended greetings to the Muslim community on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr 2026, calling for deeper friendship, mutual respect, and unity among all people.
The cardinal, who also serves as President of the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences (FABC), conveyed his warm wishes to Muslim brothers and sisters celebrating the festival across Asia. He acknowledged their prayers during this sacred time for God’s forgiveness, mercy, peace, and blessings for all people, especially for their respective nations.
Highlighting the shared human and spiritual values reflected in the celebration, Cardinal Ferrão said, “As we celebrate the values of compassion, generosity, and unity, let us continue to walk together in friendship and mutual respect, building bridges of understanding for the common good.”
He also assured prayers for peace beyond national boundaries, particularly remembering regions experiencing unrest. “We also lift our prayers for lasting peace and stability in the Gulf countries, so that the spirit of Eid may serve as a guiding light for unity and harmony among all peoples,” he said.
The cardinal concluded his message with the festive greeting “Eid Mubarak,” expressing solidarity and goodwill with the Muslim community.
