India: Tamil Nadu Christian Organization organizes protest for peace in Manipur

Inigo Irudhyaraj, founder of the Tamilnadu Christian Welfare Organization and member of the Tamilnadu Legislative Assembly, organized a demonstration in Valluvar Kottam, Chennai, to express solidarity with the Manipur people and the Muslim Leak Party on June 26.

Bishops from various denominations, left-wing politicians, members of Parliament, state legislators, fathers, religious sisters, Muslim party leaders, and laypeople who expressed solidarity with the people of Manipur attended this rally.

Bishop Neethinathan Anthonisamy of the Diocese of Chengleput, said, "It is unstoppable, and the ruling government as well as the central government kept quiet and didn’t take any steps for peace and harmony in the state."

The prelate stated that the Indian constitution stipulates that everyone has the right to follow their own religious beliefs and that India is a democratic nation. Hindutva tenets are currently squeezing and severing our nation's trachea.

"In the Old Testament, Judith fought for her own people's freedom, just as we called this rally to safeguard Manipur," said Sister Ransom, a member of the FMM congregation.

According to her, God will dispatch prophets and judges to protect our Manipur people like Israel; Christians will be bolstered in all their sufferings by Christ. You are free to persecute us, but we have a defender.

"I have heard about the persecution and studied church history, but I only realized what the real persecution is when I attended this protest. Their faith and courage motivated me and inspired me," Brother John Peter told RVA News.
