Indian Catholic from Arunachal Pradesh scales Mount Everest

A Catholic from northeast India became the second climber from Arunachal Pradesh to scale Mt Everest.

Abraham Tagit Sorang, an active member of the Arunachal Pradesh Catholic Association, became the second climber from the Indian State to scale Mt Everest.

Sorang, a native of Kra-Daadi district from the of St. Mary's Church in Itanagar, achieved the feat on Monday, June 7.

In a photograph posted on social media, the Indian Catholic is seen holding the Catholic association's flag and emblem.

Governor Brig (Retd) BD Mishra and Chief Minister Pema Khandu have congratulated Sorang for his achievement.

This accomplishment is an inspiring moment for the youth of the state and a proud occasion for every Arunachalee, said the governor.
