Pakistan: Lahore Archdiocese Hosts Interfaith Peace Prayer and Iftar Gathering

The Archdiocese of Lahore and Human Friends Organization hosted an interfaith peace prayer and Iftar dinner in Lahore on March 6, 2026.

The Archdiocese of Lahore, in collaboration with the Human Friends Organization, organized an Interfaith Peace Prayer and Iftar Dinner at St. Anthony High School, Lahore on March 6 to promote harmony, dialogue, and mutual understanding among different religious communities.

The gathering brought together faith leaders and members of civil society to strengthen interreligious cooperation and encourage peaceful coexistence.

The event was presided over by Fr. Asif Sardar, vicar general of the archdiocese, while Sonia Asher, parliamentary secretary, attended as the chief guest.

Participants were welcomed by Sajid Christopher, who highlighted the importance of interfaith cooperation in building a peaceful and inclusive society.

The program was hosted by Naqash, who served as master of ceremonies.

Several religious leaders and speakers shared reflections on peace and interreligious unity, including Sr. Genevieve, Asim Makhdum, Fr. Basharat, Samson Salamat, Fr. James Chanan, Dr. Badar Munir, and Ashiq Hussain.

Speakers emphasized the importance of dialogue, tolerance, and cooperation among religious communities to build a society rooted in peace and respect.

The event concluded with a joint Iftar dinner, symbolizing solidarity and friendship among participants from different faith traditions.

Organizers said the gathering reaffirmed that through dialogue and cooperation, people of diverse religious backgrounds can work together to foster peace, harmony, and mutual understanding in society.
