Pakistan: St. Columbus Parish opens computer center for youth’s skill development
On May 18, 2025, Fr. Morris Jalal, a priest in the Archdiocese of Lahore, Pakistan, inaugurated the Good Samaritan Computer Center.
The project aims to empower youth through skill training and development, said Jalal, parish priest at St. Columbus Parish, Green Town, Lahore. He is also the director of Catholic TV Pakistan.
Digital marketing and online business courses would be offered to the students to equip them to earn respectfully their daily bread, the priest said.
One of the key areas of focus in the parish has been youth—not only Catholic but also youth from other religions.
His initiative, such as the Good Samaritan Computer Center, will empower the youth to find employment in digital marketing and online business opportunities.
Additionally, Father Jalal, a member of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin, is raising money to pay partial tuition for trade education for school dropouts to help strengthen family ties and build the future.
He is promoting advanced education in fields like medicine and engineering that will yield better educational and career opportunities for everyone.
