Philippines to Lead 20th Anniversary of Global Rosary Prayer with One Million Children

Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) Philippines will lead the 20th anniversary celebration of “A Million Children Praying the Rosary”, a worldwide initiative uniting children across the globe in praying the Holy Rosary for peace. 

Set on October 7, the main celebration will be hosted by the Diocese of Imus at 9:00 a.m., coinciding with the Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary.

This global movement, which began in 2005, continues to inspire families, schools, and parishes to join together in faith and solidarity. Each year, children from dozens of countries raise their voices in prayer,  a simple but powerful expression of hope for a more peaceful world.

“We sincerely hope that every diocese will join us by encouraging children in families, schools, parishes, and communities to pray the Rosary on this day,” said Mr. Maximilian Robert G. Ventura, National Director of ACN Philippines. “Whether it is the full Rosary or just a single decade, each child’s prayer is a profound expression of faith and hope that can contribute to peace in our world.”

This year’s anniversary carries special significance. The united prayer will also serve as a preparatory offering for the forthcoming Pontifical Coronation of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary. ACN Philippines is encouraging dioceses, parishes, schools, and families to participate by gathering children to pray either the full Rosary or even a single decade,  each prayer a valuable contribution to peace in today’s troubled world.

ACN Philippines emphasized that there is immense power in a child’s prayer and urged families, schools, and parishes to begin teaching and encouraging children to pray from a young age.

“On behalf of ACN Philippines, I express my heartfelt gratitude for your attention and support,” Ventura said. “May Our Lady of the Holy Rosary intercede for our Church and obtain for us the peace and hope our world longs for.”

How to Join

Parishes, schools, and families are invited to take part by gathering children for the Rosary at 9:00 a.m. on October 7, 2025. Free materials and guides are available from ACN Philippines to assist local communities in preparing for the event.
