Radio Veritas Asia Inks Partnership Deal with Waswabe Records Artists

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA) partnered with Waswabe Records Artists (WRA) to use songs and instrumental music by signing a contract document on May 2.

Fr. Victor F. Sadaya, CMF, General Manager of the RVA, and Ms. Arlene A. Donarber, OIC of the RVA Program Department, signed on behalf of the organization. Mr. Sheerwin Alarcado Sawi, Mr. Mark Anthony Cuevas, and Ms. Jasmine Aquino Santos represented the WRA.

WRA is a collective of independent musicians who contributed to the album "I Praise You.” This album has these songs: I Praise You (written by Jimi Wasabe), Your Gift to Give (written by Mark Anthony Cuevas), My Soul Finds Rest (written by Jasmine Aquino), No One Else but You (written by Zyrah B. Jamandre), and I Won't Stop (written by Aries Silverio), which have been licensed to RVA to use for two years.

Fr. Victor said, "This kind of partnership will bring us a much wider reach because RVA is known not only in the Philippines but globally.”

Father Victor assured WRA to promote their songs and music as RVA has broader connections, including with the Vatican, Protestant organizations, and other organizations, so that these groups may also use their music in their missions.

RVA’s general manager thanked the WRA for its willingness to have the partnership while looking ahead to more collaborations.

“Thank you, Jimi, Zyra, Mark, and Jasmine, for having this kind of partnership and looking forward to doing more because what we have started, I believe, is just a seed. We’re just sowing the seeds and letting that seed grow into a tree, like the mustard seed, that will hopefully become the most prominent tree that will spread not only in Asia but globally. “

Mark Anthony Cuevas, WRA's representative, spoke about how they developed songs, processed them, and formed Wasabale Records to give young and independent artists a platform to share their songs.

He appreciated RVA's opportunity partnership because it would open doors for prospective ministries, allowing independent artists to share these songs on a larger platform with the community.

“So, with that, we will be supporting the partnership, and any requirement that you will be able to work together, we will be supporting that. That’s the basic idea of Waswabe Records,” he said.

He stated that broadcasting the songs would unite people and, in a small way, glorify God.

“Let us be an instrument of that,” he concluded.

OIC for the Editorial Board, Fr. Kasmir Nema, ICT Supervisor Melencio Diego, Social Media Coordinator Cindy Gorospe, and Program Department Secretary Shirly Benedictos attended the contract signing ceremony.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
