Sri Lankan Diocese Holds Symposium on Liturgy

The Diocese of Ratnapura in Sri Lanka organized a symposium on liturgy titled “The Eucharist: A Pilgrimage of Hope in the Synodal Church” on August 7.

Fr. Anton Maurice, the Director of Liturgy, was the main organizer of the event.

Held under the patronage of Bishop Peter Antony Wyman Croos of Ratnapura, the symposium featured insightful sessions conducted in both Sinhala and Tamil. Fr. Indrajith Perera, the National Director of Liturgy, and Fr. Andreas Moeti, a member of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI), served as the resource persons.

With a significant number of participants from various parishes across the diocese, the program served as a moment of deep liturgical reflection and renewal, said Fr. Moeti.

The symposium concluded with a set of resolutions aimed at fostering a more vibrant and synodal liturgical life in the diocesan community.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
