Thailand: Annual Seminar Trains Diocesan Clergy to Tackle Current Issues in the Era of AI

Four dioceses from the Gulf of Siam in Thailand held their annual clergy seminar from July 14–17, 2025, at Baan Phu Waan, a Catholic Pastoral Center run by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Thailand, located in Sam Phran, central Thailand.
The participating clergy included priests from the Archdiocese of Bangkok, the Diocese of Surat Thani, the Diocese of Ratchaburi, and the Diocese of Chanthaburi.
The seminar, organized under the theme "Priests: Bearers of Hope in the Age of AI," featured several resource persons, including bishops, priests, and lay experts.
The seminar focused on nine major pastoral and social priorities: migrants, refugees, indigenous peoples, family, women and gender issues, youth, digital technology, economy, climate crisis, and interreligious dialogue.
In addition to updating clergy from the four dioceses on these pressing concerns, the seminar provided a road map for action and implementation for the coming year, helping clergy respond more effectively to challenges in the context of rapid technological change.
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
