On Sunday morning, June 22, over 1,000 Lay Council members for the 2025–2029 term from 280 parishes and 40 mission stations in the Diocese of Xuan Loc gathered at the Bishop’s Residence to celebrate the feast of Saints Peter and Paul, the patron saints of the diocesan Lay Council.
The solemn Mass was presided over by John Đỗ Văn Ngân, Bishop of Xuan Loc, and concelebrated by Auxiliary Bishop Dominic Nguyễn Tuấn Anh, along with priests from the Bishop’s Residence and those overseeing Lay Council activities.
In his message and homily, Bishop John emphasized the important role of Lay Council members in parish life. He encouraged them to be living witnesses of the faith, rooted in the Word of God and the Eucharist.
He also urged the members to carry out their service with humility, communion, and dedication, collaborating with parish priests to strengthen their communities in faith and love.
On this special day, participants made a pilgrimage to the chapel of Saint Joseph Major Seminary of Xuan Loc. There, they received a plenary indulgence in celebration of the Jubilee Year of Hope 2025.
They then returned to the Bishop’s Residence for a Thanksgiving Mass held in the residence chapel.
The celebration concluded in a spirit of unity and joy, renewing the Lay Council members’ commitment to service in the Diocese of Xuan Loc.
