The Episcopal Commission for Liturgy and Prayer in the Archdiocese of Dhaka held a seminar on liturgy for the faithful at Fatima Rani’s church in Sonabaju on June 18.

The whole-day seminar discussed the “sacraments” and the active participation of the faithful in the liturgy. It was attended by at least 75 faithful from the sub-parish.

“A sacrament is an outward sign of receiving God's blessing or grace,” said Father Ruben Gomes, convener of the commission on liturgy. He told the gathering that the sacraments “give us new life and wisdom.”

The seminar aims to provide guidance for the liturgical life of the Church in Bangladesh. It also aims to promote the active participation of the faithful in the liturgy.

Father Pankaj in his welcome remarks stressed the importance of the Eucharist as “the source and summit of the Church.”

A participant in the seminar said he “learned a lot of new things” during the activity. “At the same time, I have been inspired to participate in the Eucharist,” he added. – Nikhil Gomez / RVA News
