Catholic Digital Missionaries Across Asia Invited to First Asian Assembly in Manila
Catholic digital communicators, content creators, and faith influencers from across Asia are invited to participate in the first Asian Catholic Digital Missionary Assembly, jointly organized by the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences – Office of Social Communications (FABC-OSC) and Radio Veritas Asia (RVA).
The four-day assembly will be held from September 10–13, 2026, at the Radio Veritas Asia headquarters in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines.
Organized in partnership with the Vatican Dicastery for Communication through the Fully Present Network, the assembly carries the theme “Influencers to Witnesses: A Synodal Way for Digital Mission in Asia,” inspired by the biblical verse: “For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:20).
The gathering seeks to support Catholic digital influencers in their journey from creating online content to becoming authentic witnesses of faith. It will focus on building a regional network of digital missionaries committed to evangelization, collaboration, and a synodal approach to communication.
The assembly also aims to strengthen the digital presence of the Asian Church by creating opportunities for participants to share experiences, develop partnerships, and explore new ways of communicating the Gospel through digital platforms.
“This assembly is more than a conference. It is the beginning of a continental network of Catholic digital missionaries committed to evangelization, collaboration, and mutual support,” said Fr. John Mi Shen, Executive Secretary of FABC-OSC and Program Director of Radio Veritas Asia.
“Our goal is not simply to produce more digital content, but to form authentic witnesses of Christ who can communicate the Gospel with creativity, credibility, and compassion,” he added.
The assembly will also serve as a milestone in the Church’s preparation for World Youth Day 2027 in Seoul, South Korea. Participants will explore ways to develop “Asian Voices for WYD,” a collaborative digital initiative aimed at connecting young Catholics across Asia ahead of the global gathering.
The assembly will feature an international panel of resource persons from Asia and beyond, including Bishop Marcelino Antonio “Junie” Maralit Jr. of the Philippines; Dr. Natasa Govekar of the Vatican Dicastery for Communication; Pie Mabanta-Fenomeno of the Philippines; Michael Unland of Germany; Dr. Anna Jihyun You of South Korea; and Fr. Cyril Victor Joseph of India.
In line with Radio Veritas Asia’s mission of being the “Voice of Asian Christianity,” the assembly hopes to provide a platform for digital communicators to contribute to the Church’s evangelizing mission and amplify the diverse voices of Asian Catholics in the digital space.
Catholic digital creators, communicators, youth ministers, and those involved in digital evangelization initiatives from across Asia are invited to register for the assembly.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
