On May 29, 2022, the Indonesian Bishops' Conference (Komsos KWI) Social Communication Commission will hold many competitions as part of the 56th National Communication Day (PKSN Online).

In his press statement, Father Steven Lalu, Executive Secretary of Komsos KWI, said Komsos KWI invites social communication activists and preachers of the faith to celebrate early.

Father Lalu explained that Komsos KWI would organize various activities to color the PHKS starting from the Digital Creative Content competition, consisting of Caption Contest, Reels Challenges, This or That, Photo Competition, and My Next Door Hero.

He further explained that other competitions worth noting include: Pope's Message Songwriting Competition, Short Film Competition and Assistance, Contest and Assistance for Podcast Reporting, History Feature Writing Competition and Assistance, Article Writing Competition, and Assistance in Mass Media, and Komsoslympics.

The purpose is to ensure that Pope Francis’ message is more echoed and not immediately forgotten following the festival," added Father Lalu, while stressing that the theme of this year's Komsos Day is: "Listening with the Ears of the Heart."

Father Lalu quoted Pope Francis stating that we humans often ignore, don't want to listen to, or want to be heard.  We must learn from God himself, faithful and respectful to his creation, willing to incline his ear to hear all our complaints and difficulties.

Pope Francis says, “listening is a tangible form of God's love that he came down to earth to be the son.”

Therefore, listening is a form of love and faith, said Father Lalu.

The priest hoped that Komsos KWI would use these numerous events to educate and enlighten the public and community about the Pope's message on World Social Communication Day.

“Therefore, we invite all Catholics and the Indonesian people, mainly social and community activists, to take part in the movement to build true brotherhood through work in the field of social communication," said Father Lalu.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
