Two new deacons from Myanmar were ordained in Hong Kong on September 15, Memorial Day of Our Lady of Sorrows.

Brothers Gabriel Robinson Kyaw Ko Ko and Saw Justin Kaung Hbown Myint were ordained as deacons by Cardinal John Tong Hon, apostolic administrator of the Diocese of Hong Kong at the Rosary Hill School Chapel in Hong Kong.

Brother Gabriel is from Shwepyithar in Yangon, Myanmar. He joined the Province of the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, Dominican Order, nine years ago.

“All through these years, since the time I was received and accepted, it was always a manifestation of how the hand of God has led me through trying times and indecision to overcome difficulties and the process of personal and spiritual maturity,” he said in a message.

Brother Saw Justin was born in Loikaw, Myanmar, on May 24, 1993. He joined as an aspirant at Saint Dominic’s House in Yangon and studied English at De La Salle English Institute for eight months before going to the Philippines to continue his English studies.

He later moved to Hong Kong to join the postulancy and novitiate, and finished Theology at the University of Saint Joseph in 2021. - Saw Hubert / RVA News
