Nearly everyone enjoys parties. An establishment that provides an opportunity for socializing, establishing meaningful connections, and celebrating the successes of the host. Inviting only family members, close acquaintances, and those with whom one has a fruitful relationship is customary at parties. The rationale behind this custom is that "who knows, maybe they will invite you to their parties in return."

Such practices are in opposition to the teachings of Jesus. In Luke 14:13, Jesus preaches the following: "Invite the poor, the disabled, the lame, and the blind to your banquets."

In light of today's Gospel, Jesus appears to underline the importance of our "wealth" being given to those in need, such as the weak, marginalized, or defenseless. Every contribution, regardless of its size, to such people as these holds immense value.

The Gospel says, "Your Father, who sees the hidden things, will repay you" (Matthew 6:18), meaning that every good deed we do for others does not always result in earning rewards since God will consider your virtuous activities.

Let us be charitable and use our resources or talents to help those in need.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
