Daily Readings: Joshua 24:14-29; Matthew 19:13-15
True Christian leadership is more than personal holiness, it demands the courage to guide and challenge the faithful toward deeper commitment. Joshua, mentored by Moses, calls Israel to wholeheartedly serve the Lord and cast away foreign gods, insisting that loyalty to God must be undivided. He seals their renewed covenant in the Book of the Law, reminding us that fidelity is not a one-time promise but a journey of continual renewal.
In the Gospel, Jesus welcomes the little children, saying, “Let them come to me… for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Mt 19:14). Their innocence and trust reveal the very heart of God. Though today, mistrust may cast shadows on this gesture, we are reminded that purity of heart must be restored, especially among Church leaders. Leadership is a sacred bridge between God and His people. Like children, we are called to trust, revere, and daily renew our faith in God.
Call to Action: Today, the Church longs for leaders in the spirit of Moses and Joshua, not perfect, but faithful. Leaders who build bridges, not barriers. Leaders who, in spite of their flaws, stand firm in God’s service and challenge people with love.
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
