Let your Light Shine before others

September 19, Monday of the 25th Week in Ordinary Time
Daily Readings: Prv 3:27–34 • Ps 15:2–3a, 3bc–4ab, 5 • Lk 8:16–18

Jesus Says, “I am the light of the world”

Light is the first creation of God in the book of Genesis. It symbolizes God’s presence. The people of Israel found the presence of God in various forms of radiant light.  Jesus Says, “I am the light of the world whoever follows me will not walk in darkness and will have the light of Life.”

The purpose of the lit lamp is to give light; it dispels darkness. It helps one to walk on the right path and prevents one from falling and choosing the wrong path.  Light also illumines and enlightens one’s heart, mind, and soul.

One cannot hide the good works; it will be known to all. [bad works also will be known to all]

Do you consider God as your light? If so, how does it manifest in your life? How do you keep your lamp blazing? Let your light of good deeds, Christian virtues, and acts of mercy ever shine before others.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
