Our God will not Fail us or Forsake us!

August 12, 2025 Tuesday of the Nineteenth Week in Ordinary Time
Daily Readings: Deuteronomy 31:1-8; Matthew 18:1-5, 10, 12-14

As Moses nears the end of his leadership, he entrusts Israel to Joshua. His life, divided into three forty-year phases, shows God’s purpose unfolding in the fullness of time. Yet the transition isn’t merely human; God promises to go ahead and assures His people: “He will not fail you or forsake you. Be strong and bold” (Deut. 31:6, 8). This divine assurance invites courage amid uncertainty.

In the Gospel, Jesus teaches that greatness in the Kingdom lies in childlike humility: “Unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” He warns against despising the “little ones”, not just minors, but all who are vulnerable in faith. The Parable of the Lost Sheep reveals the radical love of the Father, who values even one soul enough to leave the ninety-nine and search for it.

Call to Action: God’s love is undivided. Each one of us is infinitely valuable to Him. Do I see others as God sees them, worthy of love, attention, and restoration?

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
