Setting Jesus as your priority will make other tasks more accessible and fulfilling.

I read the story of a coach who divorced his wife, who was just 26 years old, to become head coach in the National Football League. He did not want his wife to be a hindrance to his success.

In contrast to that, the Brazilian footballer Kaka posted a photo of himself on Twitter in his announcement of his retirement. He was on his knees, lifting his hands, wearing a t-shirt that read, "I belong to Jesus." He believed he was always a Christian — first, family second, and football third.

"No one can serve two masters," Jesus said. "Do not be concerned about what you will eat or drink, but seek his kingdom and righteousness first, and all these things will be given to you."

Let us also examine our priorities and see if priorities are right. What matters most are the eternal things. Our goal is Jesus.

Jesus challenges us today to look at what is our highest priority in life. Our number one priority has to be living out of our relationship with God.

Human desires can pull us down, but ultimately, what is essential is that we uphold the urgent things in life.

Together with the Psalmist, let us proclaim, "Forever I will sing the goodness of the Lord."

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
