Bombed in Myanmar

Various Catholic religious congregations working in Myanmar are appealing for donations for that country, which is facing ongoing civil war and the aftermath of the recent earthquake that ravaged it.

At least 17 students were killed and 20 others injured in a junta-led airstrike on a school in Depayin, central Myanmar according to the country’s shadow National Unity Government (NUG) on May 12, Monday.

The Myanmar military has destroyed another church in Chin state, marking the third attack on Christian religious structures within five days, in blatant violation of its self-declared ceasefire aimed at facilitating post-earthquake relief.

Amid ongoing fighting between Myanmar's military junta and resistance forces, a Catholic church in Chin State has been destroyed by airstrikes, marking another tragic blow to the Christian community in the country’s only Christian-majority region on April 8.
