The Apostolic Vicar of Phnom Penh recalled direction given by the late Pope Benedict XVI to the Catholics to live in a society with a strong faith: "Let us follow the path of love. Willing to sacrifice our lives for the benefit of others in humble hearts. Walking slowly toward God is indeed the perfect happiness.”
Child Jesus Church in Boeng Tompun invited 200 poor people to a solemn advent feast and distributed groceries to 200 poor families living in different parts of Phnom Penh city, most of whom were poor, physically ill and garbage collectors.
Bishop Olivier Schmitthaeusler, Apostolic Vicar of Phnom Penh, released a special message on October 2 from the Carmelite monastery in Phnom Penh to priests, nuns, and Catholics for October, the month of evangelism and rosary, to pray for the Church, families, and Cambodian society.
