Day of Fasting and Prayer for Peace

In a spirit of interreligious unity, St. Patrick’s High School in Karachi, southern Pakistan, hosted an Iftar gathering on March 17 to celebrate the feast of St. Patrick and to pray for peace in the world, especially amid ongoing tensions involving Israel, Iran, and the United States.

As wars and conflicts continue to afflict people across the globe, from Gaza to Sudan, from Ukraine to Myanmar, from Haiti to the Democratic Republic of Congo, to Syria, the International Union of Superiors General (UISG) has issued an urgent appeal for a worldwide Day of Fasting and Prayer for Peace on August 14, the eve of the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary.
