The Social and Economic Development (SED) Centre of the Diocese of Galle, in southern Sri Lanka, organized a high-level interfaith gathering on Jan 20, under the theme, “Peace and Reconciliation through Interfaith Dialogue and Sharing.”
On April 6, the Caritas Social and Economic Development Center, the Galle diocese social service arm in Sri Lanka, launched a CHARIS Singapore-funded initiative to empower low-income families.
A Sri Lankan bishop stressed that the faithful must learn how to genuinely reach out to people within and outside the Church instead of treating them as “projects” to be accomplished.
