Ten Catholic dioceses representing an estimated 9.63 million Catholics have joined calls to protect Sibuyan Island in Romblon, central Philippines, from the proposed large-scale metallic mining operations of Altai Philippines Mining Corp. (APMC).
Catholic communities on Sibuyan Island in Romblon province, central Philippines, will hold two days of prayer and solidarity for the environment ahead of the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, observed annually on September 1.
