Concluding Jubilee Year

In a solemn ceremony marking the conclusion of the Ordinary Jubilee of 2025, Pope Leo XIV officially closed the Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica on the Feast of the Epiphany, January 6, 2026.

The Jubilee Year of Hope officially concludes on January 6, 2026, with the Feast of the Epiphany. Yet its central message, especially the call for debt cancellation, remains urgent and deeply relevant, particularly for the island nation of Sri Lanka.

As part of the Jubilee Year celebrations, members of the St Gregory Choir from Singapore’s Cathedral of the Good Shepherd undertook a pilgrimage to the archdiocese of Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, in October last year, combining prayer, worship, cultural immersion, and fraternity.

Religious men and women from across the Archdiocese of Semarang gathered at the Marian Shrine of Gua Maria Kerep Ambarawa, central Java, Indonesia for the closing celebration of the Jubilee Year, organized by IKHRAR MUPERKAS, the association of religious congregations under the Archdiocese’s Council of Religious Leaders.

From cathedrals to parish churches across the country, the nine Catholic dioceses in Malaysia marked the close of the Jubilee Year 2025 on Sunday, December 28, through solemn Masses and thanksgiving celebrations.

The Diocese of Miao, a young mission diocese in the northeastern Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh, concluded the Jubilee Year 2025 with a solemn Mass followed by a grand Eucharistic procession on December 28, 2025.

The Ordinary Jubilee 2025 in the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman, southwest India, unfolded as a lived experience of hope, communion, and renewal.

“If hope is to have a future, it must have a home,” the bishop emphasized. “And if hope is to endure, it must be nurtured.”

Thousands of Catholic faithful participated in the solemn closing ceremonies of the Jubilee Year in the Archdiocese of Imphal, northeast India, on 28 December, the last Sunday of the year.

The Archdiocese of Goa and Daman, western India, solemnly concluded the Year of the Jubilee on December 28, 2025, the Feast of the Holy Family, with a Eucharistic celebration at the Sé Cathedral, Old Goa.
