India: Catholic School Organizes Environment Day Celebration

A Catholic school in the northeastern Indian state of Manipur organized an Environmental Protection Program aimed at promoting environmental awareness among students and the local community on July 23.

The staff and students of St. Peter School, Kamjong, enthusiastically observed World Environment Day, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental stewardship.

The event was held on the school campus and was graced by two Majors from the Assam Rifles, the Officer-in-Charge of the Chassad Police Station, and the Village Headman, who served as the chief guest.

The program featured a student-led exhibition highlighting various environmental issues and practical solutions. It concluded with a tree-planting drive on the school grounds.

In his address, the Principal, Fr. Angelus Jingkai, encouraged everyone to actively promote environmental awareness and take concrete steps to protect the planet.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
