Indian youth serve needy with monthly meal initiative

FIFOM youth of Our Lady of Assumption Church, Paruthipattu, distributing food and water to the needy on May 25, 2025.

The Fellows in Faith of Mary (FIFOM), the vibrant youth group of Our Lady of Assumption Church, Paruthipattu Parish, has launched a heartfelt monthly outreach program to support the underprivileged.

Fr. Regan Manuel Raj led the effort, and the youth enthusiastically supported it, bringing compassion and dedication to every interaction.

With a noble vision to serve the hungry and marginalized, FIFOM has committed to selecting one Sunday each month to distribute food and water to the elderly, roadside dwellers, and sanitation workers in and around Avadi, in Tamil Nadu, South India.

Continuing their mission, the team conducted its outreach on Sunday, May 25, distributing 50 food packets and water bottles to people in need.

Those who received the meals expressed sincere gratitude and offered heartfelt blessings to the youth for their kindness and generosity.

The leadership of FIFOM is composed of dedicated young individuals:

  • President: Rossario

  • Vice President: Subash

  • Secretary: Seemon Paythuru

  • Joint Secretary: Robby

  • Treasurer: Abhiyal

Fr. Raj, parish priest of Our Lady of Assumption Church, said, "I am thrilled that our youth have begun this meaningful journey of helping the needy through food distribution. I appreciate their motive and encourage them to continue this noble work. May Mother Mary bless and guide them always."

W. Vinoth Kumar, Vice President of the Parish Council, said, "Our parish youth team has always been an inspiration to the younger generation — both spiritually and socially. They are the front-runners and the backbone of all church activities. I wish them continued success in this wonderful initiative."

The parish community is proud of the FIFOM youth and continues to support their efforts, praying for the growth of their mission to serve with faith, love, and compassion.
