No one is ever ‘worthless’ in God’s eyes, Filipino bishop says in Christmas message

Malolos Bishop Dennis Villarojo.

A Filipino bishop stressed that “God considers no one as worthless,” and hope is never lost in humanity, "especially if they are united in His grace of renewal.”

In his Christmas message, Malolos Bishop Dennis Villarojo reminded that God became to dwell among mankind “in their lowest state” for the sake of their salvation.

“Jesus became Man to redeem the world besmirched by sin, renewing the beauty and integrity of humanity,” he said.

Bishop Villarojo also encouraged the faithful to pause and turn to the Baby Jesus in the manger, despite the fast-paced world riddled with social issues.

“Amidst the issues of society, especially with the rampant corruption, we may wonder what Jesus saw in us that he chose to become man, with all of our shortcomings because of the stain of sin?” said the prelate. “But Christmas is not about what Jesus would achieve by being man… it happened because God has hope for the world He has created.”

Moreover, Bishop Villarojo pointed out that hope should never diminish with the closing of the Jubilee Year.

“May the Jubilee Year continue to inspire us to hold on to hope, because God will never give up and abandon us in our lives,” he said.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
