Nobel laureate Maria Ressa to address Philippine bishops on leadership, management

The Caritas Philippines Academy is organizing the "Executive Course on Servant Leadership and Pastoral Management in Our Times" from September 18 to 23 in Tagaytay City, a town south of Manila, the Philippines.

This transformative event features top-notch resource persons who share Caritas Philippines’ collective vision of enhancing and strengthening the processes, services, advocacies, and accountability mechanisms within the country’s Catholic dioceses. 

Other speakers include Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Pro-Prefect for the section of evangelization of Dicastery of Evangelization; Bishop Pablo Virgilio David, Catholic Bishops’ Conference (CBCP) President; Attorney Tony La Vina, associate director for Climate Policy and International Relations Manila Observatory, Archbishop Gilbert Garcera of Archdiocese of Lipa; Bishop Gerardo Alminaza of Diocese of San Carlos, Vice-Chair, ECSAJP (Episcopal Commission on Social Justice and Peace); Jonas Tetangco, CSSBB, Country Representative, Catholic Relief Services, Philippines;  Eleazar Gomez, Consultant, Caritas Asia; Ms. Claire Papa, Vice President for External Affairs UNILAB, Inc.; Father Carmelo Caluag, Head, Caritas Philippines’ Alay Kapwa  (the Catholic Church's solidarity program mainly used to fund the humanitarian, development, and advocacy programs) Expanded Program, and Randy Ramos, Caritas Philippines Fund Management Team.

The Caritas Philippines Academy is the CBCP's Social Action Training and Learning Institute. Since 2016, the academy has been training social action workers and directors to become professionals with a heart. 

Its training programs equip them with the skills and knowledge they need to effectively serve the poor and marginalized.
Caritas Philippines is the social development agency of the CBCP.
