Northeastern Indian dioceses to hold 5th Regional Youth Convention

The northeastern Indian Catholic dioceses will hold the 5th Regional Youth Convention (RYC) 2025 at Mary Help of Christians Cathedral, Kohima, June 27-30.
Over 2000 young participants from 15 dioceses of northeastern India are expected to attend it.
On June 25, an RYC 2025 press conference and final preparatory meeting were held at Kohima, the capital of the northeast Indian state of Nagaland.
Addressing the press meet, James Thoppil, bishop of Kohima, said the convention is a celebration of faith, youth, and unity.
The event, organized by the Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement (NCYM) and the northeast regional youth movement, promotes spiritual and cultural significance.
According to Father John Barman, MSFS, regional youth director, the youth convention is a significant step in promoting youth engagement in the Church.
The Catholic youth movements provide training to young people with missionary formation.
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
